The artistic research 48h WASTELAND is transforming environmental data from two different garbage systems (Eschbach/Germany and Mokattam village/Cairo) into a sensory experience about the anthropocene. On both locations data sensors were implemented to transmit movements of humans, animals and machines. The wireless parasites streamed their discrete numbers in an exhibition space, where the live data were sonified as a media ecological meshwork. The artistic installation at Kommunales Kino Freiburg presents and explores the dispersal of objects, microorganisms and data in the anthropocene.
